Dinner with Family
Performance. 15min. 2021
Sun Oh recreates the strangeness of a relationship within a family through dinner. Family members function as parts of society, and when they come home from their social role, they are unable to fulfil their roles as family members. They sit around the table and eat, but the weight of their lives weighs them down. They cannot even stretch their backs nor have a decent conversation, and they cannot eat their food properly. Through the performance, Sun Oh revisits the image of families that appears to be ordinary, but which, upon closer examination, has subtle tensions.
